General Lafayette's Visit to Marietta

 In preparation for America 250 in 2026, the national and local historic figure General Lafayette will be discussed Tuesday, September 23 at 1:00 p.m. in the Monroe County Library’s meeting room . Erin Augustein, Executive Director of the Northwest Territory Museum Society, which serves as the site managers for the Campus Martius Museum, and the Ohio River Museum, will explain Gen. Lafayette and his importance.
 When the General visited Marietta May 23,1825, it was his third and final stop in Ohio during his great tour of the United States as the “Guest of the Nation.” Learn how Gen. Lafayette earned this title.
