Identifying Monroe County's Revolutionary War Veterans and How to Research Your Ancestors

     The Explore program at the  Monroe County Library, in Woodsfield, will launch its year-long series observing America’s 250th birthday when Karen Romick, of the Monroe County Genealogical Society discusses the Society’s identification of the County’s Revolutionary War Veterans and their burial sites.

 

     Ms. Romick will explain the group’s quest to identify  those war veterans  who lived in Monroe County and their grave locations. A handout will be provided listing the County’s veterans. In addition, she will share stories of Monroe County  veterans Ephraim Jones and Charles Atkinson and his brothers. Lastly, Ms. Romick will offer tips to research one’s ancestors.
