African American Heritage was created in partnership with leading African American genealogists and recognized leaders in genealogical information to develop a comprehensive mix of resources, records, and tools specifically pertaining to African Americans.

The World's largest online resource for family history documents and family trees. Search by name, by where a person lived or browse by region or states. The Map Center contains maps from across the United States. Data is compiled from the Social Security Death Index, U.S. Federal Census, UK Census Collection, immigration and military records, court, land and probate records and more. More than 4,000 databases include census data, passenger lists, birth, marriage, and death records. Can only be used in library.

Open up the Past!  Libraries, museums, genealogical and historical societies have treasures in their collections.  Many of these came from people who stored their personal treasures for generations in a shoebox.  The Digital Shoebox brings these historical treasures together in a searchable online scrapbook.  It will serve as a primary resource for materials relating to the rich history and culture of Southeastern Ohio--the "start of it all!"

Provides convenient access to US military records, including the stories, photos, and personal documents of the men and women who served. This continually-growing collection contains millions of records from world-class archives, many of which are exclusively available on Fold3.

Provides access to more than 22,000 family and local history books. Also included are the U.S. Federal census records for 1790-1930, articles from more than 6,500 genealogy and local history periodicals, Freedman's Bank records and U.S. Serial Set which contains information of people and places pertinent to congressional action sought during 1789-1969.
