Donated Children's Books & Fine Free Day

The Monroe County District Library just received a gift of 100 new children’s books, ranging from pre-kindergarten through early readers, from the Brownstone Book Fund, a private foundation in New York City.  The Brownstone Book Fund is interested in fostering early reading, a love of books and encouraging parents and children to read together.

This new collection will be made available to the public to checkout, along with a new collection of interactive books for children, beginning Saturday, February 2, 2019.  That day just happens to be “TAKE YOUR CHILD TO THE LIBRARY DAY”.  The first 30 children to visit the library will receive a prize.

Also, on Saturday, February 2nd only, we will be having a fine forgiveness day.  If your library card has accumulated fines, stop by the library between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to have your fines forgiven up to $20 for fines only.  Lost items will remain on the library card.  In the event of inclement weather and the library is not open that day, all activities will take place on February 9th.
